Diet
A new diet called
"VOLUMETRICS DIET" has recently been published. So what is it?
Dr. Barbara Rolls, a
dietitian who invented this diet, said dieting is a diet for those who want to
lose weight without counting calories and not depriving certain foods, while
losing weight by one kilogram a week.
The diet is safe,
balanced, varied and very effective. It is based on the simple idea of
filling the abdomen, but with the right foods, which contain little calories
and fat, but at the same time are highly dense, such as dietary fibers and
water.
4 sets
Daily food is divided
into 4 groups, namely:
- Group I: Vegetables
and fruits with low starch content and high water content (such as berries,
pears, tomatoes, lettuce and cabbage), as well as low-fat dairy products.
- Group 2:
Vegetables and fruits with high starch content (such as potatoes and carrots),
as well as whole grains, legumes and low fat meats, as well as low fat mixed
meals such as pasta with tomato sauce or rice with steamed vegetables.
- Group III: meat,
cheese, pizza, French fries, white bread, derring salad and ice cream.
- Group D: Potato
chips, chocolate, cookies, nuts, butter and oil.
The first and second
groups are the basis for the majority of calories, which are supplied daily,
while the third group foods should be taken in small quantities only, and the
fourth group foods may be taken from time to time in very small amounts.
This concept is based on
the idea that one gram of protein contains much less calories than one gram of
fat. Protein can therefore be eaten more fat, supported by foods high in
dietary fiber and high in water content, which fill the abdomen with a few
calories.
Feeling full
The feeling of fullness
in this diet plays a pivotal role because those who feel full feel happy and
have no severe hunger attacks, and therefore do not look for foods high in
sugar and fat, which helps them to adhere to this diet longer than other
systems.
These foods should not
be taken in the early morning
Breakfast is one of the
most important meals, and you have to focus on making your choices healthy and
healthy, starting with a full day of energy and accomplishment. Here's a range
of healthy foods that should be avoided at breakfast:
Cakes, pastries, donuts
and many other unhealthy beginnings that may lead to an inactive morning and
not full of energy and achievement, many of us may make mistakes and choose
unhealthy choices not only because they lack nutrients or because they are high
in calories and sugars, But its timing may not be appropriate.
Because breakfast is the
key to the day and its beginning let us guide you to a range of foods that you
may think are healthy but it is best to avoid them:
High breakfast cereals
with sugar
We are talking here
about most of the grains in the markets, full of sweeteners, dyes, additives
and sugars. Do not make any of them your choice. Eating high-sugar, low-fiber,
and high-sugar breakfast cereals can lead to high blood sugar levels for a short
period of time, quickly dropping and leaving without energy, with a quick sense
of hunger. Therefore, when choosing breakfast cereals, you should focus on the
quality of the meal that contains at least 5 g of fiber and a sugar content of
not more than 10 g.
the banana
The banana is a
"ticking energy bomb", but it is not what makes it the perfect choice
for your breakfast. True bananas contain high fructose. However, as studies
have shown, it is a rich source of magnesium and potassium, two minerals that help
relax nerves and muscles, So you may not want to eat bananas during the morning
if you have a day full of tasks that require energy and activity.
The toast with butter
"French toast"
Those of us who do not
find French toast or sweetened pies have a tempting breakfast, are really
delicious and may be a traditional meal in many countries, especially European
ones, but that does not mean it's a perfect and healthy breakfast!
Butter is a source of
hydrogenated fats and is very harmful to cardiovascular health, which may
contribute to raising the levels of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood
is not recommended to be taken with either toast or sweetened pancakes. To make
these choices healthier, you may want to eat full-grain toast to avoid sweetened
pancakes, replace butter or corn syrup with honey or jam, or find other
healthier protein choices, such as peanut butter or a little chickpeas.
Coffee
Unfortunately, many
people may start their morning before breakfast with a cup of coffee, and this
is probably a bad habit that should be avoided as much as possible!
Despite the many health
benefits of coffee, eating it on an empty stomach can irritate the stomach
because of its caffeine content, and increase the risk of stomach acidity and
even ulcer in the future.
Caffeine is also
associated with gastrointestinal disorders. Eating coffee can temporarily
inhibit appetite, making you gradually step down from eating a full and
balanced breakfast.
As you can see many
different breakfast options, make sure you find the right alternatives for you.
The healthy breakfast, as studies have shown, is the way to start a day full of
energy and accomplishment.
